ANDREA ACKERMAN

I am a California licensed psychologist who earned doctorate degrees in both Clinical and Developmental Psychology from UCLA. As a graduate student, I engaged in extensive research, diagnostic and treatment training with young autistic children; worked with many other populations of children, adolescents and families in clinical settings; and received extensive training in developmental and psychoeducational assessment.

Since graduate school, I have worked in both special education and regular education settings as well as in my private practice with preschool through high school aged students and their families, addressing a wide range of social, emotional, behavioral and environmental difficulties. Some of these challenges include AD/HD, anxiety, depression, delays in development, learning disabilities, trouble making and keeping friends and/or getting along with siblings, family conflict and divorce, sexuality and gender concerns, substance abuse, illness and death.
